AILEEN & TROY'S SAVE THE DATES [Sep 2010]

My friend Aileen and her fiance Troy got engaged in October of 2009. They were in the process of saving money for their wedding and needed to get started with their Save the Dates. They were on a tight budget and I had extra time on my hands so I volunteered to make them. They live in Florida so they weren't as easily accessible as my sister was when I made them for the first time. They chose a few of their favorite photos from a photo shoot by her cousin Alvin. I took those photos and made a few iterations for them to see. It was easier this way so they could visualize the different possibilities of where the text would go or how it would look here or there. They ended up just choosing one of the 2 photos and their own font. This was what I came up with.

ERICK & VIRGINIA'S SAVE THE DATES [May 2010]

I had the opportunity to design my sister's Save the Dates. She was on a budget, but wanted them to be magnets as well. We were looking for magnets online, but most of them required that we buy in bulk. There were also the printable magnets, but I didn't think I would have been able to feed them through my printer. We found some business card sized magnets that would work so we went with that. I printed them out on bright white photo paper, cut them according to the correct size and applied them to the magnet. This was easy as the other side of the magnet already had an adhesive. She chose 4 difference photos from their engagement shoot and I tried to make them work. I had to carefully crop all of the photos due to the dimension restrictions. These are what I came up with.
